It is connected with a vacuum cleaner and the small leaves fall into the bag easily. Kermith doesnt talk, complains or blows.

Put the Kermith onto a stable table and align it so that the flange looks at you. Plug the vacuum hose into the flange of the Kermith (possibly with a drop of oil). The vacuum cleaner should have a performance from 1000 to 1500 watts, and should be adjustable. If the vacuum cleaner is not adjustable, take a step switch (dimmer), or use the service through a secondary air slot. Place the vacuum cleaner at a powerstage of about 600 watt. This is good for plant and ears. Do not forget to put a clean bag in the vacuum cleaner and to change it in time.

A full bag heavily reduces the suction power. Cut the plants and side branches and remove the big leaves. Now turn the Kermith and the vacuum cleaner on. Take the plants or branches horizontally and drag the "Bud" loosely across the slot of Kermith. Strike him with a rotating movement back and forth. After some practice you can reach an astonishing pace. When you cut of "loose" tops the inlet of the vacuum cleaner should be a little wider open. This will limit the suction, so that the cutting is less aggressive.

Avoid physical contact with the cutting mechanism! Keep sure the fingers are not too close to the slot! Too small, loose tops are better harvested by hand.

If the average performance of Kermith declines, it can have two causes. 1. The vacuum cleaner is full. (Empty containers or bags to change) 2. The cutting mechanism is "clotted". (Intermediate or basic cleaning of the cutting mechanism) The cutting mechanism must be cleaned regularly. It is no maintenance required.

intermediate cleaning:
Kermith the switch off and pull the power cord! To clean you need a tough, non-metallic (plastic, wood) subject (eg: Eislöffel etc.). Push the object back into the slot of a cut surface of the cutter and pull him forward. Repeat this with the second cut surface. Now the cutter can be rotated slightly.

Basic cleaning:
Switch off the Kermith and pull the power cord! After the work the Kermith should be cleaned immediately and thoroughly, since fresh plant remains are much easier to remove than old, indurated ones. Turn to the four bolts with the supplied key and take off the flange from the device. Cleanse the cutter and the flange depth and screw the flange down again. The distance between the cutter and the flange must be exactly right. If the milling machine grinds a bit, you should loosen the four bolts a little, steady the Flange with one hand, and tighten the bolts again. This should solve the problem.
